Daylight Saving Time (DST). The USA changes were mandated by US legislation in 2005 and
replace the current rules which have been in effect since 1986. The USA changes will run for at
least a year, and are then subject to review by Congress. The U.S. begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. local time on the second Sunday in March and reverts to Standard Time at 2:00 a.m. local time on the first Sunday in November. DST is not observed in Hawaii or Arizona, with the exception of the Navajo Nation, which does observe DST, even in Arizona. In the USA, Daylight Saving Time goes into effect at 2:00 a.m. local standard time when local time moves forward to 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. The change back to local daylight time occurs at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time when local time moves back to 1:00 local standard time. Note: Be aware of subtle differences in the exact time at which different countries implement the transition to and from Daylight Saving Time. West European Time, Central European Time, and East European Time all change to and from Daylight Saving Time at 01:00 UTC. Europe also changes on a different date from the USA, Canada, and Bermuda. ________________________________________ |
